Robin's Urgent Need: A Safe Place to Call Home

SHORT VERSION-

My name is Robin Belle. I'm a trans woman living in Maryland. I live with schizoaffective disorder that affects my day-to-day life. I've been bouncing around from place to place for a while and staying with family recently. However, their disregard for my physical safety and their now open and stated transphobia means I need to relocate ASAP. The money I am asking for is to cover expenses while I get a job and couch surf. It will keep me fed, clothed, and warm in the winter.

LONG VERSION-

Since graduating college in 2021, I have had a great deal of trouble getting and holding down jobs. Part of this is being trans. I'm a strong candidate on paper, but employers often pass over me when they see me. Another part is dealing with my schizoaffective symptoms, which can make it hard to hold a stable position.

I've been moving every 6 months from place to place, making it work where I can. To make ends meet, I freelance and own my own company where I make art and entertainment products. I have a cat, a loving partner, and an amazing network of friends.

Recently, I've been staying with my family while I try to move back down to the DC/Southern MD area. Unfortunately, they have revealed they have changed their mind after years of support and are no longer willing to see me as a woman. This, on top of safety concerns from an out-of-control hostile dog, means I need to relocate. I cannot stay in a place where I am forced to be someone's son.

The money I'm asking for is for the expenses that come with bouncing around. Food, supplies, clothes, the occasional motel room. Currently, I am preparing to couch surf and live in my car, but it is the winter and my available options are slim. Any help you can offer would mean the world to me.

GOALS-

Get a place with or without roommates in the DMV area. Get a job asap to build funds to support this.

WHAT'S DIFFERENT THIS TIME?-

I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make this work. Ramp up freelancing, make more products to sell, get a service industry job, office job. Anything to make ends meet. I have been in this situation for too long and I just want a stable, normal life.
