Hey everyone, I’m Robin Divine.

I’ve worked on this GoFundMe for months. However, I haven’t had the courage to share it.

This feels like the last chance to save my life and I'm afraid I’ll fail.

I’m a writer and mutual aid advocate who wants to build an equitable society.

I write a Substack called Poverty Sucks.

I write about poverty because I’ve lived my entire 48 years of life in it.

The stress of chronic poverty and constant unmet basic needs is about to end my life.

Last year I almost lost my vision and had to crowdfund the cost of eye surgery.

This is not a life - this is daily crisis management.

On top of that, the racism I’ve experienced in Ohio has been painful and added to my stress.

I need to leave this country.

My plan is to immigrate to Mexico. I want to experience the beauty of being alive - I’ve never felt. My Mother never had the chance to experience it either in her brief life.

Making an ask of support in the midst of multiple genocides weighs on me.

With that said, I choose to advocate for my own life as fiercely as I advocate for the lives of others who have been oppressed by the violence of poverty, capitalism and colonialism.

My hope is to have this funded by July and move in August.

I’ve set a financial goal of $15,000 to give myself space to breathe. I need time to rest. And, I want to feel safe.

I’ve experienced homelessness four times. For my own mental health, I need to be certain I'll have a financial safety net to secure a stable place to live for myself, my two sweet old lady cats, Nalo and Mila, and my sensitive, traumatized rescue pup Nico for at least six months.

My little family is tired. We’re ready to find home.
