Roblero Family - Facing Deportation to Guatemala
The Roblero family needs our help! The family has lived in the US/Canada for over 20 years and now are facing deportation back to Guatemala ("their home country"). This family of 8 (6 children and parents) find themselves in a really tough situation with little financial resources in Canada as they fight to stay. The father, Daniel, was deported on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019, leaving Sandra to care for her 6 children by herself with no financial support. The amount raised will also help them pay for shelter, daily food, healthcare needs and immigration legal fees as she fights to stay in our country.
Since Daniel's deportation, Sandra and her kids have suffered emotionally as they all miss their spouse/father. The family has managed to get by with the little that they have but it is quickly running out as Daniel was the breadwinner in the family. On top of worrying about financial needs, three of the children have health issues. One child suffers from a rare congenital condition called galactosemia, which puts him at risk of liver and kidney failure, vomiting, seizures and brain damage if not properly managed through diet.
Please help this family gather some funds to help pay bills and the essentials while in Canada. Our goal is to raise $5k in a very short period so any amount is greatly appreciated.
The Battle to Stay Update:
"Currently, the family is awaiting a decision on their application for permanent residence on Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds. However, they have faced a number of hurdles thus far, including not being eligible for publicly funded legal aid representation due to Ford’s legal aid cuts, as well as delays beyond their control in putting forward their immigration application.
