Courtney's Road to Recovery

Donation protected

On May 2nd 2015, the Stubbs family's life drastically took a turn.  As the backbone of the family, Courtney, experienced a fall down the stairs that broke her hip.  After going to the E.R. that night, she learned she had to have surgery the following morning.   She was told she would not be able to walk for 6 months.  As the family adjusted to this new lifestyle, they had the help of family & friends to get them through the first couple of months ,which they all thought would be the hardest part of recovery.

However, soon after the surgery Courtney went in for a follow up appointment with her surgeon, and learned that her first surgery had failed.  The only way to fix this is to go back in to surgery to  repair the break a second time.  This drastically pushes the recovery time further out.  There is no guarantee that this surgery will be successful. If it fails, Courtney will have to implant hip replacements for the rest of her life.

The family is doing everything they can to get through this. Scott has received FMLA from his job, but it also means he does not get paid on those days he stays home.  With medical bills piling up, along with the day-to-day cost of living, this is creating a very tough spot for the family.  Now that Kendall is out of school for the summer, it is even harder for Courtney to be there for her daughter, who spends all day worried over her mommy.

We are asking for any amount to help them out.  Whether it is $1 or $20, all the money will be used to help hire someone to care for Courtney and Kendall on those days Scott is unable to stay at home.  With the medical bills, extra prescriptions, and doctor appointments- any amount of money you can donate will be put to good use.

Courtney is bound and determined to get on her feet as soon as possible. In the meantime, the family is stressed out and suffering as a whole.  You never know how good you have it until your star quarterback is out for the season, and you find yourself scrambling to make ends meet while trying to take care of your family.

Thank you so much to all of our friends and family for volunteering to help out as much as possible, but we all know everyone has jobs, kids, and busy lives.  If we can find a good caretaker for Courtney, an overall life-changing amount of stress will be eliminated. #robocourt
