Perparing For Battle

The CCHS robotics team needs support to travel to the FTC Super Regionals March 11-13 in San Antonio, TX.

State runner-up, Clarke Central High School RoboGlads, advance to FTC Super-Regional Championship in San Antonio , TX.

The CCHS robotics team, one of 35 teams competing at this weekend's Georgia FTC State Championship in Kennesaw, made it to the championship round, finishing a close second to the team captained by the two time defending state champion.

The RoboGlads, an after school club coached by Mr. Scott Swain, had earlier advanced to the State Championships as a result of success at the regional qualifier held at Athens Academy. The team was the Captain of the winning alliance, punching their ticket to the State competition.

As a result of their success, the team was invited to represent the state of Georgia at one of four super-regional events held in San Antonio March 11-13, 2015.

The RoboGlad Booster Club has created a go-fund me site to generate funds to offset the travel expenses and modifications, equipment and parts for MAXIMUS the team's victorious robot.

WHAT IS FIRST®?

FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an international organization which strives to inspire students to explore careers and further studies in fields such as science, technology, engineering and math.

FTC teams are challenged to design, build and program a robot, while working alongside mentors to learn valuable skills in a hands-on environment. While preparing for competitions, students learn a multitude of valuable skills that will serve them well throughout their careers and personal lives. Teamwork, effective time management, and strong problem solving skills are fundamental to the success of the team. The impact on students can be life changing, as they are exposed to new opportunities and discover untapped potential.

Please help us continue this incredible campaign!
