Robot Legs for Ace!
Donation protected
Aston or Ace as we call him, was born with Hydrocephalus, Ataxic Cerebral Palsy, as well as Bilateral Microphthalmia which causes him to be legally blind. Ace was given a less than 20% chance to survive birth and Ace is now 7! He is sweet and loves a snuggle or hug anytime of day but he’s also strong and silly and oh so active! Due to his low muscle tone from Cerebral Palsy as well as his delay in brain development and lack of vision Ace is still working hard on standing and walking. Ace has been working in his Rifton Gate trainer and loves any opportunity to be independent and sit or stand on his own. The Trexo Robotics System is the only home robotic system of its kind for children. It’s robotic “skeleton” attaches to his legs like braces allowing the Trexo to take steps for him giving him the important Neuro feed back as well as the muscle memory and helping him understanding the feeling of what walking is as he is blind and has never seen anyone walk. Technology advances continue to make our world more accessible to all abilities, tho the cost of said advances can sometimes be out of reach for families like us without the help and love of community! We thank you for your love and support and the opportunity for Ace to gain independence and mobility to explore this beautiful world!
