ROBYN - A Documentary
Donation protected
ROBYN is a short documentary that follows the story of Robyn Leger's parents, Valerie and Dale, recounting the birth of their first child. With a unique condition for the time, Robyn endured much time at SickKids and fought for her life upon birth. Told through the use of miniatures and intriguing visuals, ROBYN is not your typical medical documentary.
ABOUT THE CREW:
We are a small crew of third-year Bachelor of Film and Television students attending Sheridan College. This fundraiser will aid us in creating and potentially distributing our film. We hope our efforts and care for this project reflect itself in the work and that audiences enjoy our final film.
A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:
"This documentary is important to me as it depicts the personal events of my own family. I believe this film will find an audience in those who have had or are expecting to have a child. In highlighting the dangers of childbirth and the fears of new parents, I hope to start a discussion about childbirth and inform people about Congenital Hyperthyroidism."
DONATIONS:
50% of donations will go directly to SickKids as we believe this is vital to the heart of our story and to also assist parents and children who are in a similar situation to that of Robyn and her parents. The remaining 50% would go towards our production budget, including: building materials, distribution, food, transportation, festival fees, and other miscellaneous production costs. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, we thank you for the ongoing support!
