Rocco's Race To Recovery

I am Terriann Kava, the aunt of Rocco Joseph Lanzer.  Rocco is the only child of Maria and Michael Lanzer from the Maspeth area of Queens, New York.  Rocco was a healthy fun-loving 8 year old boy who loves wrestling, Tae Kwon Do, bowling, and having play dates with his friends.  On January 31st 2015 his whole world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with acute T cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  Rocco is currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy at Cohen's Childrens Medical Center for four weeks.  His parents are by his side 24/7 and spend every waking moment caring for Rocco.
        Rocco's condidition is very severe.  He is no longer able to do simple everyday things which we often take for granted.  Rocco no longer has the ability to go to school, play with his friends, or even go to family functions due to the fact that his immune system is completely vulnerable because of the chemotherapy treatment.
        Rocco and his family are committed to doing everything possible throughout  this long and difficult journey.  The doctors are estimating a minimum treatment time of 3 years.  Having a single income household and due to the fact Rocco needs constant care makes it even more difficult to make ends meet.  Medical cost alone are astronomical and factoring in the cost of living for a family of three shows how desperate the Lanzers' situation is.
