Saturday October 21 was the hardest day my family has faced. My dad had a major hemorrhagic stroke and we were told he had only hours left to live. By some miracle my dad squeezed my moms hand and let us know he wasn’t ready to go. My dad had lifesaving surgery done at RCH to remove damaged parts of his brain and stop the bleeding. He is now in the ICU and the doctors hope to wake him up in the upcoming days. There is a lot of uncertainty in my dads future. The doctor believes my dad will have function of his left side but we really don’t know what his deficits will be. He will have a long recovery ahead of him. My dad wasn’t set to retire for another year and at this time he needs my mom at his side. I am starting a go fund me to help my mom with unexpected expenses and while she waits for financial support else where.
