Rodger’s Ranch
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Andrea Leigh Cox. I am a holistic health coach who loves helping people become healthier. I also LOVE animals!
Throughout my life I have wanted to create a place for people and animals to come to heal.
The idea of Rodger’s Ranch came about when my rescue dog Rodger was dying of cancer.
I had always loved animals but my compassion to aid them along their journey became crystal clear as my sweet Rodger was passing away. I literally stayed with him every single moment during his last year of life.
For years I have helped people heal their bodies from degenerative diseases like cancer by utilizing holistic modalities such as juicing, fasting, and a Raw Vegan diet.
But I could not save my dog Rodger when he was dying of cancer. Towards the end of his journey I learned that using a 90% holistic approach with a 10% allopathic approach was the best remedy.
As Rodger suffered through his illness, I asked him to give me signs of him reaching the angelic realms.
Since Rodger’s passing almost one year ago, I get signs in the form of rainbows, sunshine, butterflies, and owls. Even feathers are a reminder of his gentle soul.
But nothing has been more powerful than a dream he sent me one night to start Rodger’s Ranch. A place where animals and people can come to heal.
Rodger’s Ranch combines my holistic teachings and my supportive clientele coming to gently detox their bodies with the agreement that they will rescue an animal from the ranch.
The only thing missing from this equation is the home to house these beautiful animals along with their beautiful kennels that will be placed on a 3 - 5 acre piece of land.
In the state I am looking to relocate to in August of 2023, the law permits a home owner to have four dogs for every acre of land that they own. I have been looking at properties that are 3 1/2 acres.
This amount of land would be perfect to build this dream.
At any given time 12 to 14 dogs would be allowed to graze this 3 1/2 acre property.
If funding and space, and local ordinances allow, I would envision providing a space to rescue farm animals, horses as well as dogs.
This has been my dream for the longest time. I first created the business plan for it in 2006.
It is an opportunity for people to experience the healing unconditionally loving power of animals that would otherwise be euthanized. In turn these people would be healing themselves with the detoxification methods I already utilize at my current retreats.
The donations that you graciously supply will serve as a down payment for the land, the home, the kennels, and the fencing that needs to be put up.
Every little bit helps!
Running one group and one private retreat per month for eleven months out of the year would mean that two - twelve dogs would be adopted out eleven months of the year.
Being 100% vegan for 23 years I can say that I have a passion for all living things. More specifically for animals, especially homeless and mistreated dogs. I love animals so much that I don’t put them on my plate and educate others to adopt a plant-based diet.
Although I have always been a huge animal lover, I never knew my passion for animals and the love I had for my sweet rescue dog Rodger would bring me to a place of rescuing again until after Rodger passed.
My newest rescue Maverick has made a 150% turnaround from the time I took him in as a “biting escape artist that the shelter called Grumpy”. Maverick was about to be euthanized. Just four months later, he is a completely different dog.
The $130,000 I am seeking would be broken down into four parts…
$55,000 downpayment for the land/home
$15,000 closing fees and taxes
$20,000 for kennels
$20,000 for a secure fence around the property.
$20,000 guest quarters to be built on property
With this money in place, I am free to purchase this property for myself and all the little four-legged angels ready to greet me on this journey.
Every dog that crosses my path will be rehabilitated to be a kind loving gentle dog that gets along well with other dogs, people, and children.
Every person who adopts a dog will be thoroughly checked out. Including their home to make sure there is a fenced in yard along with their history.
I think it’s important to mention that this is not going to be a nonprofit at this time. I am successful in many ways and hyper independent, {almost to a fault}.
This is one endeavor that is a lifelong dream that I know will take a village to make happen.
Thank you for your donations.
