Rodney Cobb Jr Medical Fund
Approximately three weeks ago a group of young men went swimming at Walter Hill Dam. It is a common occurrence and has been for generations for those in the northern part of Rutherford County. Rodney Cobb, Jr. was one of those young men.
For those of you who don't know, the Walter Hill Dam sits at the base of "Mt. Trashmore" at the Middle Point Landfill. Middle Point Landfill is the largest Class I Landfill in Tennessee and sits on the banks of the Stones River adjacent to the Walter Hill Dam. The landfill receives 4,500 tons trash every day.
Prior to their day of swimming there had been a bit of rain so it is reasonable to expect there would have been some storm runoff into the small lake. Nonetheless, the young men like so many before them decided to go swimming. This is where things seemed to go wrong.
Very soon after Rodney Cobb, Jr. went swimming, Rodney got sick... very sick. Rodney was first taken to Saint Thomas at Rutherford where he was quickly diagnosed with a serious viral infection. The diagnosis was so serious Rodney was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital where he has been in a coma since his arrival.
Rodney is in serious condition. Rodney and his family need our help. I am sharing this because I want you to join me in helping Rodney and his family. Pray... pray hard. Then when you get off your knees get out your checkbook and write them a check. I will and I want you to join me. Then pray some more.
