Rodney Popour’s Unexpected Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Gina Larson and I am starting this fundraiser to help my friends, Rodney Popour, his adoring wife Kimberly, and their family as they face the unexpected. No one is every ready to deal with a medical emergency and that is where WE all get the chance to step up. Rodney will be transferred to U of M’s hospital soon and that means added travel expenses on top of medical expenses. Both Rodney and Kim are unable to work, which means no income is coming in to pay bills. Now being faced with travel, lodging, food and everything else that comes with it, let’s come together as a community, and help ease this burden for two people who would literally do anything for anyone. I know Rodney is going to kill me for this and I can’t WAIT for him to be healthy enough to try!

On Friday December 30th I pick up Rod at the airport in Sawyer. He couldn’t even hardly get to me. He couldn’t breathe. He was in a-fib. I rushed him to Marquette’s emergency room. Thank GOD! He was diagnosed with RSV and bacterial pneumonia and a-fib. They put him on a ventilator. It has been 11 days that we have been in the ICU in Marquette and his heart is ok now but his lungs are bad. He has been accepted to the University of Michigan Hospital and hope to have a bed soon.
