Rodrigues-Druwe Family Tragedy Fund
This is the official GoFundMe page for the Rodrigue-Druwe family set up by members of the Westview Elementary School community **Funds will be withdrawn directly by Isabela Druwe.**
On July 19th, while on one of their family adventures near Hinton Alberta, tragedy struck: the Rodrigues-Druwe family was involved in a devastating 4-car collision at the Wildhorse Lake Campground turnoff on Highway 16.
Fabricio died at the scene, while the rest of his family was rushed to the University of Alberta Hospital. Lucas (age 7) remains there, in critical condition, including brain trauma, leaving Isabela and Yuri (age 10) to cope away from both their Brazilian and Canadian communities.
The Rodrigues-Druwe family moved to North Vancouver in March 2019 from Brazil for Fabricio (the father) to embark on a new career opportunity. With the CoVID-19 pandemic starting shortly after their arrival, it was a difficult time to get to know their community; however, for those of us fortunate enough to know them, the Rodrigues-Druwe family is a force of positive energy: always together, always smiling, always adventuring.
We may not be able to show our support in person, but we can ease some of the financial pressure and allow Isabela to grieve her loss and take care of her children. Any contribution you can make to this heartbroken family is welcome. As Fabricio was the primary income earner, these funds will be used for Isabela, Yuri, and Lucas’ living and recovery expenses.
Thank you for your compassion, and for being a part of the community that cares for this wonderful family. Please keep them in your hearts.
*Updates will be provided on Lucas’s condition.*
