Rodriguez Family Restoration Fund
Jake Rodriguez is a great employee at Lakewood Church in our HR Dept. A year ago, Jake, his wife Marisa, and their two precious kid Anna and Ben started feeling ill. They went to multiple doctors, but they were never able to determine the cause or help them. After struggling in their health all that time, it was finally discovered their apartment had lethal levels of black mold in it. A few weeks ago, they had to move out and leave all their possessions behind because everything was contaminated. Renter’s insurance did not cover their possessions from mold and the apartment complex refused to help. Since then, they have incurred over $25,000 in medical bills, which were not covered by insurance, to help rid their bodies of the mold toxins. It would take too long to go into all the details, but this family has been through a season like Job had where they’ve lost everything and been attacked on every side. Even their car broke down. They continue to incur more out-of-pocket expenses as they try to heal and put their lives back together. Please help me show our love and support and provide some financial restoration to them. They need it so desperately! Thank you so much! ❤️
Here is more information from Marisa, the mom/wife:
Our apartment was deemed uninhabitable and it was determined that 100% of our belongings were highly contaminated with mycotoxins, the harmful by-product of mold that was causing our health issues and developmental problems in our two young children. Our family lost everything we owned and had to seek immediate medical care.
We had to get specialized care from a doctor who specializes in mold in Dallas, where we learned that all four of us had life-threatening levels of toxins in our bodies.
Out 4 year-old, Anna, had significant damage to her immune system. She and our 7 year-old son, Ben’s development and learning ability have been severely impacted. Our whole family is suffering from neurological and other health challenges that have been very difficult to treat. We’vehad to pay for very expensive hyperbaric treatment that is not covered by insurance to try to rid our bodies of all the harmful toxins.
Every day is scary. I wake up and I don’t know if Anna’s body will be completely swollen, if Ben will have a migraine, or if I will be able to swallow properly. It’s so much to have to endure, but somehow we are getting through this. We have been displaced for 70 days because of the medical treatment in Dallas and are so desperate to get back into a place that is free from mold and begin to rebuild our lives. Thank you so much for your love, support, and generosity!
