Roger Keenan Stroke Recovery

My name is Alyssa, I am Roger’s Great niece and with Deb’s okay, I have started a go fund me to raise funds for their medical

expenses, fuel, lodging, and any other expenses that may occur due to the long road of recovery ahead for Roger.

On Wednesday evening October 18th, Roger and Deb had just finished dinner when Roger went out back to fiddle around before meeting up with a friend. About an hour had passed before Deb was notified by a neighbor that Roger was laying in the back yard unresponsive. He was ultimately flown to Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, where following an MRI they determined that he had had multiple strokes on the left side of his brain leaving his right side of the body debilitated. He currently is heavily sedated and intubated but has shown signs of responsiveness to those who visit him by way of eye contact and holding their hand.

The doctors determined the clot started in his heart, traveled to his brain where it burst into multiple clots causing multiple strokes. Roger has further testing ahead to take a look at his heart not to mention the VERY long road to recovery.

Deb will be unable to work for the foreseeable future and will be spending a considerable amount of time traveling between Rapids and Wausau.

Roger and Deb are two of the kindest people I’ve ever known and Roger would give the shirt off his back to help people. I’d love for us all to give back to them in their time of need.
