Roger MacLean Cancer Treatment

In March, 2018, a large mass was removed from dad’s bowel. While the surgery was a success, we were informed there are other smaller masses throughout the intestines and in the liver. After some testing, they concluded this cancer is a rare, slow moving cancer called Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (http://www.cancer.ca/en/cancer-information/cancer-type/neuroendocrine/neuroendocrine-tumours/?region=on)
We were told it could be treated with monthly shots of Lanreotide. Unfortunatly, the Landreotide didn't work as we hoped and the tumor in dad’s liver has doubled in size.
After undergoing more tests, we found out that dad had the genetic markers necessary to try an experimental treatment. This treatment however is only available in Quebec and Ontario. The treatment will take 4 trips to Quebec in which dad will be treated for a period of 5 days. The medicine will be covered by the BC Cancer Society however the flights, hotels, travel costs and lost wages will not. Through GoFundMe Fundraising and Events, we are hoping to raise enough money to cover some of these costs. Thank you so much for all support, both financial and emotional. It really means the world to us!
