Roger’s family needs you, please help

Update 3: Dear friends: We are beyond grateful for your tremendous support in this difficult times. Roger’s neurological state got worse. He was having severe seizures and medicine was not helping at all, so we had to take the hardest decision and put him to sleep. Today Friday July 14th we had to let our sweet little baby go so that he could finally rest.

Actualización 3: Queridos amigos: Estamos extremadamente agradecidos por su gran apoyo. Lamentablemente, el estado de neurológico de Roger empeoró y comenzó a tener convulsiones que solo fueron empeorando tras los diversos intentos médicos, por lo que tuvimos que tomar la decisión más difícil y dejarlo descansar. Hoy viernes 14 de Julio, nos despedimos de nuestro bebito hermoso.

Update 2: Roger is a fighter! Despite the fact that things were not looking good the first 24 hrs, he is eating on his own now, trying to vocalize and wiggling his tail! He still needs to work on being able to walk again, and hopefully gaining his eyesight back, but let's go one day at a time.

Actualización 2: Roger es un luchador! A pesar de que las cosas no se veían nada bien durante las primeras 24 hrs, ahora está comiendo por su cuenta, tratando de vocalizar y moviendo su colita! Todavía tiene que fortalecerse para poder caminar y tenemos que esperar para ver si recuperará su vista, pero vamos un paso a la vez.

Update 1: Roger went into respiratory arrest by the end of his surgery. He did not breath for 5 minutes and was given CPR. He came back but not fully yet and has been in critical state since then. He might recover, or not. We are devasted. Any help, energy, support message is more than welcome.

Actualización 1: Roger tuvo un paro respiratorio al término de su cirugía. No respiró por 5 minutos y tuvieron que reanimarlo. Si bien ahora está respirando, neurológicamente aún no responde y sigue en estado crítico. Es posible que se recupere, como también es posible que no lo logre. Estamos destruidos. Cualquier ayuda, energía, mensaje de apoyo es más que bienvenido.

Hi! We are Ariel, Valentina and our little beloved beast Roger. Roger had an accident doing what he likes to do the most: playing fetch, and this injury evolved into a bad infection. Unfortunately our financial situation right now is very tight and does not allow us to go out of budget but Roger needs surgery to remove remains of the stick that got stuck in his throat. We brought him from Chile with us because he is like our baby, but vet costs here escape from our possibilities. Please help us so that he can quickly recover and continue being the sweetest and playful dog that he is. (Away from sticks from now on, of course)

Hola! Somos Ariel, Valentina y nuestro querido bestiecito Roger. Roger tuvo un accidente haciendo lo que más le gusta: jugar a ir a buscar un palito. El palito cayó clavado y se hirió la lengua. Esta herida que parecía inofensiva, quedó con astillas que migraron a la garganta y finalmente formaron un absceso, por lo que Roger necesitó cirugía para drenar y remover los restos. Trajimos a Roger con nosotros desde Chile porque es como nuestro hijo, pero lamentablemente los costos de veterinarios se están escapando de nuestras posibilidades.

Por favor ayúdanos con lo que puedas para poder costear su hospitalización y (ojalá) su pronta recuperación.
