Roger skaggs medical fund

Hi, my name is Alan Deaton I am starting a gofundme for my wife’s (Nicole Deaton) brother Roger Skaggs. Roger and his wife have 3 beautiful kids, Maisy(15), Howie(12), and Brittney(6). Roger is a fierce Christian man, a loving father, a husband, and a wonderful brother. Roger's kindness is presented in the many ways he helps others. With his continued stay at the hospital, Roger has continued to pray over others, even in his current state. He has made a huge impact in my life and continues to be a standing romodel that we all can look up to. Roger will always put other people’s needs before his own, he is humble and wears his heart on his sleeve. We know he is still needed in this world, by the grace of god, Roger is still fighting and conquering each new day. It is heartbreaking what he’s going through and the sorrow this is bringing his family. We do not know why circumstances like this happen but we are putting our trust in god and praying for a full recovery.

In 2015 Roger had a near-fatal accident with a semi-truck which he survived. At that time he had a long recovery and needed a shunt put in his head, a stent in his heart, and lost his spleen. Fast forward to March 2023, Roger hit his head which caused his brain to bleed, and was sent to the hospital. What we thought would be a one-time surgery, turned into days in the hospital with multiple emergency surgeries ahead of him. All the surgery attempts were to stop the bleeding in his brain. Roger has had a total of 3 brain surgeries and has had to remove 2 parts of his skull. He is a fighter and we have been so grateful for everyone's prayers and kind words. The doctor told us that the lord is in play with this one (Roger). Roger at best has another surgery to go and as of now is staying strong. He currently has no function in the entire left side of his body which is a result of a stroke he had. We are doing what we can to help him and his family which is why we created this fundraiser. With this fundraiser, we hope to help Roger and his family with necessities like rent, food, and utilities. We are also hoping to help with what's to come in medical expenses. This was an unexpected occurrence and anything helps. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to read about Roger and your continued support.
