Roger's Recovery

Donation protected
Last weekend, Roger was involved in an accident.  A driver waved Roger to cross the street.  As Roger crossed the street, he slipped on some ice and fell.  The driver, possibly not realizing Roger had fallen, ran over Roger and dragged him  into the middle of the street.  911 was called and the driver fled the scene.

Roger, who was a dedicated employee to Littleton Public Schools, just retired this year.  He was looking forward to rest, relaxation and travels with his beloved wife, Lori.  Unfortunately, life had other plans for the beginning of his retirement as a result of the hit and run, Roger suffered internal bleeding of which he had surgery for yesterday.  His pelvis has been crushed and the doctors are waiting to operate until his body is strong enough.  There have been complications with his bladder and kidneys.  He will need to learn how to walk again and the hospital stay could be as long as 4 months if not longer.  As you can imagine, this is devastating.  Lori and the family are living in the waiting room of the ICU at Swedish Hospital.

He has a long journey ahead of him.

As we all know, life can change in a moment.  This is just another reminder to cherish the people in our lives and the importance of coming together when there is a need.   All donations are going to pay for medical bills.

We will update everyone as we know more about Roger's recovery.
