Roger's Transplant

Donation protected
After several years of medical setbacks including cancer, our Dad finally received the call for his liver transplant.

On Sunday, March 31, 2019, our Dad underwent his transplant; the 5-6 hour procedure took a turn for the worse and our Dad's life was in the hands of the surgeons and medical staff in the operating room. After 10 1/2 hours, many blood transfusions, and the dedication of the surgeons and medical staff at Baylor St. Luke's Transplant Center, who refused to abort the procedure, our Dad's liver transplant was successful.  His body is accepting his new liver and he is on the path to recovery.

Our Dad is a very strong, hardworking man and one who does not ask anyone for help but we know the road to recovery will be lengthy and he will continue to incur medical expenses. We have created this gofundme campaign on his behalf to assist with his current and future medical expenses. All contributions are appreciated, while our goal may seem high, it is only a fraction of the cost related to the procedure and post-treatment. A transplant, without complications, costs upwards of $500,000 and only a percentage is covered by insurance.

We are forever grateful for all who contributed to our Dad’s 2nd chance at life and will continue to cherish our memories with him, especially, the moments he spends with his grandchildren – Aubrey, Preston, Travis and Alexa – who love their Papa dearly.
