Rohan's legacy - Help for Meegan & Layla

Rohan has received his angel wings, the world has lost a shining light but heaven has gained another bright star.

 

On Saturday the 6th November, 2021 my friend Rohan suffered a major cardiac arrest whilst competing at the Redlands dog agility trial. Bystanders performed CPR & Defibrillation for 1.5 hours before he was taken to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and received a cardiac stent. Rohan remained in ICU on a ventilator post surgery but despite all these efforts was unable to be saved. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday the 10th November, 2021 with his loved ones by his side.

 

Rohan was one of the kindest, friendliest, funny and most selfless humans I have met. An all round good bloke. Always willing to help others, an infectious smile and was loved by so many. He leaves behind 3 beautiful children, 12 year old Hadassah and 11 year old Levi from his first marriage and 3 year old Layla along with his amazing wife Meegan. Meegan has Ushers Syndrome and cannot drive, wears hearing aids and is now legally blind with less than 5% vision left in each eye. She relied on Rohan for everything. He was her carer. He was her world.

 

We cannot forget to mention his beloved dogs and companions Danny, Rev, Raine, Razzle and Remi. Rohan was a skilled agility handler and instructor. To watch him run his dogs was inspiring and joyous. His last run just before his collapse was a clear run in Elite Jumping with their Border Collie Danny. He was just doing what he loved most.

 

Rohan was the sole income provider for the family and due to Meegan's health, she needs all the financial assistance we can offer to help her pay for Layla's schooling, mortgage repayments and any other future expenses she may need for herself and Layla.

 

Rohan, this loss will be felt among so many. You will leave a massive hole in this world. Taken way too soon.

Rohan was 48.
