Roland Norton Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Roland Norton was a kind and loving father, brother, son and friend. He was a brilliant song writer, musician and artist. He was passionate about the pursuit of knowledge and culture, made evident by his intellectual and charming nature. His genuine and caring heart rewarded him the title of "Dad" to many more than his natural children alone. And he cared for his loved ones unconditionally.
In the days, weeks, and years to come, we will miss him in the moments that make us laugh. In the times we need a friend to lean on. And the times when we need our dad.
He passed in his home suddenly - this November 30th, 2018. He lived modestly on a fixed income with nothing left over to put away for his continued care. He wanted to be remembered fondly and for no particular extravagance to be made on his behalf in the event of his passing. We have come as close to that goal as we believed appropriate with consideration to his wishes as well as the needs of his friends and family to come together and remember him.
We are seeking donations to cover his memorial service, and associated expenses. His son, Ben Norton, is responsible to arrange collection and payment of final expenses.
Memorial gathering will be held from 4pm to 8pm (with military honors presented at 4:30pm) on Friday, December 7, 2018, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, located at 7456 Manchester, Maplewood, MO 63143.
