Rolled Jeep 80 Feet Down Cliff - Shanelle Bates

As you all know in the midst of the trauma and emergency state the story doesn't always unfold clearly and accurate right in the beginning. I wanted to take a moment to tell you all exactly how God works and how Love conquers all.
Shanelle, Matt and their dog Nikita left Thursday for a weekend getaway to Young. As they were driving along the narrow and windy road coming back from the grocery store back to their cabin in the dark they accidently started to roll off a cliff and landed 80 feet down at the bottom. When they reached the bottom the jeep landed on the passenger side where Shanelle was. Shanelle was frazzled and the only one in the vehicle when it stopped rolling. In a panic Shanelle tried unbuckling her seatbelt while scanning for her husband. She spotted him barely standing, hunched over and swaying several feet from the Jeep. She said he looked like a zombie with blood dripping all down his face. It was a horrific site and she knew she needed to get them help immediately. She couldn't brake free from her seatbelt and in all of her worry she says she just seen a mans hand reach in and unbuckle it for her. They were in the middle of no where and it definitely wasn't her husband. For those believers out there this is an act of GOD. It gives me chills every time I replay this in my head. Once she got to Matts side she sat him down and knew she had to get them out of there. Shanelle started to climb up the cliff barefoot and advised Matt to follow her voice. She told him how strong he was and encouraged him to keep going. "Just follow my voice I'm going to get us out of here. " she would say. All the while making sure her dog Nikita followed. Despite all the odds they both made it 80 feet back up the cliff dripping blood, with several injuries and broken bones. They then walked two miles very slowly trying to seek help. After knocking on several cabins and walking a couple hours they finally reached help. They were both eventually air lifted to Scottsdale Hospital. This story is one of God, Trauma and two people that would never give up on each other. It breaks my heart to imagine all that they went through but fills my heart with joy knowing that they made it.
With 5 kids and a 6 month old grandbaby in the house we are asking for the communities support to help get them through this time of recovery. They will need help with medical bills including treatment, hospital stay and evacuation costs. They will also need help with household bills as they will not be able to work and with 6 children at home that can pile up fast and unfortunately any disability just will not be enough to cover all the costs of living and medical expenses they will face due to this horrific accident. All your support and prayers are truly appreciated during this time. We are grateful they are still here today to be here for all their children.
