Help Rom fight rare cancer

"אני נכנס לתוך המסע הזה עם עיינים פקוחות, ראש מורם, קבלה והכלה שזו המציאות החדשה שלי.
הרופא אומר שאצטרך להגיע לגיהנום וחזרה אבל הסיכויים לטובתי, 70% החלמה.
הוא עוד לא מכיר את הרום שהסרטן הזה צריך להתמודד איתו…"

"I'm walking into this journey with my eyes wide open and my head held high,
accepting and embracing that this is my new reality.
The doctor says I will have to go to hell and back, but the odds are in my favor,
with a 70% chance of recovery.
He still doesn't know THE Rom that this cancer has to deal with..."
(Rom B.E, Facebook profile post, 12/22/2022)

There are situations in life that anything you ever imagined could not prepare you for when this tsunami hits you.
And there are people you meet in life that from the moment your eyes connect with theirs, you know it will be unforgettable.
This is one of those situations, and Rom is one of those people.

Nothing prepared us and certainly did not prepare Rom for this moment. Being diagnosed with cancer.
A storm of feelings and thoughts, and from there... the road does not get shorter or easier.
This is not someone else's story.
This is not another newspaper article.
This time - it's ours.

Rom is one of those people that, if you haven't already met - we wish for you that one day you do.
And anyone who ever met Rom would define him as "absolutely invincible and inspiring".

Rom has the kind of personality that captivates a room. He is a son, a brother, and a true friend. He's an adventure seeker whose fundamental core of living, lies in his passion for adventure. He served as an officer in a special unit in IDF, crossed South America and Africa on his motorbike, and is now a cancer patient starting an intensive chemo treatment, facing the toughest journey of all.

This remarkable life-loving young man is now, at the age of 32, facing his biggest and most extreme challenge, being diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive type of cancer, T-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia/Lymphoma, at a high degree of malignancy. The tumor sits on the chest and puts pressure on vital organs.

The sudden and unexpected diagnosis made his world turn upside down.

Since the state of his cancer does not allow him to go back home to Israel, his parents arrived in Phoenix, where he currently resides. They are here to ensure their son has the positive support system required for him to heal.

Rom is not the type of person who will ask for support and a handout.
This is why as his friends, we are sharing this story.

If you know Rom, you know how strong, positive and resilient he is. That being said, cancer treatment is devastating physically, mentally, and financially and can take long months to sometimes years. He is going through unimaginable battles right now and needs our support.

Many wonder how to help during this scary and uncertain time. That's what this fund is for. Community is about celebrating together, and even more so - it's about supporting each other, the way we would wish to be supported if we were ever faced with a life challenge with a burden too heavy to carry alone.
Rom is one of us.
Together, as a community, let’s show Rom what we are - undefeatable.

״כל אחד הוא אור קטן וכולנו אור איתן״
״Each of us is one small light. All together, we shine bright.״
