Roman & Lem's "Get Out Of The US" Fund
Donation protected
I'm Lem, and my partner is Roman. We need help to get Roman over here to Australia in April 2020. Staying in the US is no longer an option for Roman, so we're asking for your help getting him out of there!
There are several reasons why this is so urgent. Roman can't see a doctor or get the medical treatment that he desperately needs while he's in the US. He is almost completely isolated there, without any family to help him. He has been very recently threatened with homelessness due to his hours being cut and a lack of support.
In addition, he's had to cope with the loss of his beautiful dog, cruel and even sometimes violent workplace bullying, and desperately trying to cover rent as his work cut his hours.
We both have jobs, but for a few reasons (hours not being given, being too sick to work with our disabilities, general massive upheaval of both of our lives in the past three months) we're struggling to find the money for everything we need to get Roman over here. We've decided to ask for a little help getting the money together so that we can both live happier and safer lives together.
Here, Roman will have stable housing, adequate healthcare, and a huge support network of people who can help him heal from the hardships he's had to face for so long.
Donations will go towards the following, in order of urgency:
- Plane ticket to Australia.
- Visa fees.
- Obtaining a passport.
- Break lease costs.
If we go over our goal, here's what the remainder of the money will go towards:
- Helping to pay health insurance costs.
- Helping to pay for bills, groceries, and rent.
- Obtaining permanent residency.
First and foremost, we are so grateful for any donation that you can give - even $1 would mean the world to us. The same goes for sharing this post. It's all a meaningful contribution.
We are saving as much as we possibly can, and once we've been able to pay off certain expenses we'll update this post and let you all know how much you've helped!
Thank you so much for reading this. It has taken a lot of effort to ask for help with this, and we really appreciate being given the support needed to make this post in the first place.
