Roman Holden's Liver Transplant Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Roman Holden was born with a lung and liver disease called Alpha1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. He had his first liver transplant almost 17 years ago at the age of 3, at St. Louis Children's Hospital.  Since that time, he has had multiple surgeries and continuous health problems.  Unfortunately, his liver is failing, and he has been in chronic liver rejection the past 6 years. His health has really declined the past 2 years, but he always has a good attitude, despite being really sick.

Roman has been on the liver transplant list since mid September, 2020.  He is dually listed at Integris Baptist in OKC and KU medical center in Kansas City. Unfortunately as his health deteriorates, this past year, Roman has had several hospital stays and emergency room visits, both in KC and in OKC.   Roman will continue to require extensive medical care, both before and post-transplant.

One of Roman's great qualities is he does not complain about his health situation, or all the doctor's visits/hospital stays.  He lives in the moment.  He enjoys life and enjoys spending time with his family.  Despite his health issues, he was still able to graduate from Deer Creek High School in 2020.  He loves hanging out with his friends, and enjoys watching the Kansas Jayhawks (basketball), St. Louis Cardinals and watching/going to the OKC Thunder games.
