ROMANIA IS CALLING

Hi friends and family -
I was in my senior year of high school. I was laying on the floor of my room and I had started opening my Bible when I felt the Lord say in my spirit ‘Romania’. Within the next few weeks, the Lord began to confirm His word through TV shows and magazines and conversations. Romania was calling.
I left to pursue my Bachelor’s at Southwestern with the tug safely tucked away. I bided my time in my studies, ministry, and relationships continuing to learn and to grow in intimacy with the Lord. I went on missions trip to Zambia and Las Vegas. I was serving faithfully in youth ministry. I was learning the value of leadership within my church community. I sat and listened, and learned within the jobs I had. Friendships were constantly growing and flourishing. I sat with mentors, leaders, counselors that launched me into my healing journey. I experienced immense amounts of grief and loss. I learned and I loved. I found the person I get to spend everyday of my life with.
It was about 4 or 5 months ago when I received a spam call. Typically, I would get calls from another city or county in Texas. Sometimes out of state. This particular time, I received a call from out of the country. Romania. Romania was calling. I felt the tug again in my spirit and I prayed, “Lord. I am going to know when Romania calls my name.”
Fast forward to a few weeks ago on a Wednesday night during Spring Break getting to love and to serve the students of this generation. We had a friend who used to serve in our youth ministry alongside of us got to come hang out with us this particular night. We had a youth hangout afterwards at Andy’s. I was in mid-conversation when one of my girlfriends said, “HALEY. Our friend has something exciting to share and I think you need to hear it.” He proceeded to tell me that he and his church along with some other leaders were going on a missions trip and they were looking for 1 or 2 more people to go with them. Lo and behold - their trip is to Romania.
I knew the moment I heard and I immediately said to the Lord. “I hear you Lord.”
After trusting the Lord in the waiting for almost 9 years, I get the opportunity for my hands and feet to serve Romania working with LIFE Romania through Camp MIA. LIFE Romania connects with the youth of Romania to bring them into contact with a loving God who desires to give life and life MORE abundantly. There are many ways we will get to serve alongside the team in utilizing our gifts serving at Camp MIA.
I believe this is the first foot in the door of the weight of this call that I feel. I am unsure if it looks like moving here and partnering with a ministry, financially supporting from the US, adopting a kid, or establishing a business. I know whatever the Lord has in mind is exceedingly and abundantly more than I can ask, think, or imagine.
I ask you to partner with me and the team I’m going with in prayer. The God of the Universe knows the wants and needs of the youth in Romania. I will be specifically praying that we would not go with certain expectations or our own ideas of what the Lord will do. That this trip would be submitted back into the Lord’s hands and to trust Him with what He wants to accomplish without our own agenda or plans. I praying for moments. I have seen the Lord in the middle of conversations, hardships, answered prayers, people receiving healing and freedom because of a single moment.
If you feel the tug to give financially, I thank you in advance for just reading a bit of my journey and I thank you for even considering to give. No amount is too little. The Lord is kind to use every resource. I thank you in advance for your generosity and your prayers. If you feel the need to send me a prayer or encouragement directly - please private message me. I love hearing from others and how the Lord is stirring things in your own heart.
LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
