Romeo Williams' Celebration of Life

I have lost "My Love", Romeo Williams. Rome, my love, my friend, my companion, my husband, has gone on to be with Our Lord and Savior on 4/8/2017 at 2:14. The interesting thing is, Rome is many things: he is a man of God, a husband, a father, a friend, a mentor and a student. He never felt he was too old to learn. My heart is heavy in my loss and I know many of you loved him very much, as well. This is a time of celebration, as he was a two-time cancer survivor; and with other setbacks, he has never let it stop him, or given up. In the beginning, when we dated, I would refer to him as a "Rebel Without a Cause" (always fighting for the justice of others) and over the last 23 years, he has always been that to me. More importantly, he was a warrior, to the very end. He held on. His “home-going” was unexpected to us both. Each day, we were looking forward to returning to our home. There is a pillow on our bed that says “Welcome Home – 4/25/2017”, but that day never came. Romeo was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, an incredible bass player, teacher, writer and producer and a true friend.

I have received many calls, texts, asking: “How can I help and what do you need?” After many hours of wondering what that means, I was moved to make my requests known. As many of you know, as a musician, it is like being a contractor. You work, you get paid. My Love has had a few medical setbacks in the last few months. In the last several months, unfortunately, Rome has spent more time in the hospital, than not.
