In Support of Ron Deprey’s Family ~ Mia, Esther, and Josie

Ron Deprey, who I affectionately call Uncle Ron, passed away at his home in Merida, Mexico on June 29, 2024. Ron lived with his daughter, Mia, who cared for him as his health declined.

After a 10 day hospital stay, Ron and Mia learned that there were no further options for medical intervention, so they went home. Ron fell asleep. Mia fell asleep. When Mia woke up, Ron had passed.

Caring for a parent while being a parent is no small feat, and Mia did both with unwavering and relentless dedication. Now, we have the opportunity to show Mia and her daughters, Esther and Josie, the same unwavering and relentless support.

Please donate in Ron's memory and in support of his girls. Mia needs help to pay for hospital, funeral, and cremation expenses. A goal of $50,000 MXN (approximately $2,760 USD) will cover any outstanding costs.

Though Mia has shared anecdotes about caring for her set-in-his-ways dad, it is impossible to quantify the financial and personal impact of providing a parent with end-of-life care. I took the liberty of increasing the fundraiser goal so that Mia can take the girls on a vacation and/or start a trust in their name.

While I prefer to set an attainable goal, I delight in excess. So, let's meet and then exceed this goal! Ron has long cared for our families, and now it is our turn to care for his.
