Ron Smith keep his house.

Hello, thanks for taking time to read this. You’re here for a reason, hopefully this touches your heart as this man you’re about to hear about has touched mine & so many others. Ron Smith, a very humble, selfless person who would lose everything rather than ask for help. I’m posting this because his friendship means so much to me, Ron is the most genuine person I know! If you know Ron and his wife Donna, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
I used to live in Sylva North Carolina where my wife and I bought our first home, one day I decided to take my son for a ride on our four wheeler and the darn thing broke down outside of Ron’s house, normally I’d think it was bad luck but looking back it was the lords way of introducing such an amazing person and friend Ron into my life. He came out to the street and asked if I needed help. I Told him the four wheeler had broken down while taking my son for a little spin. Little did I know Ron is a mechanical genius, he was able to get the four wheeler running within minutes and he could have stopped there but fixed a lot more stuff on it because he wanted us to enjoy it. Reason I tell you this is because Ron and his wife Donna dated for 5 years, they decided to get married and had plans to travel the world together. Ron bought a school bus and was getting ready to fabricate and remodel it so they could start on their journey.

God had other plans, 2 months after getting married Donna came down with ALS. Donna has touched so many with her faith in the lord and her positive energy and smile. She is a fighter, but sadness fills my heart to tell you Donna is dying, she is non responsive, not eating, not opening her eyes. 14 years battling ALS and within the next couple days the doctors are pulling the plug. Ron for the past 14 years has been there, on the property, monitors and cameras on Donna everywhere he goes so he can hear her and see her, If she needs suction he comes running! If she speaks, he goes running! Feeding, baiting her, can’t leave to get grocery’s, can’t go to the store just to go to the store. Leaving the house is a big risk not because he doesn’t trust anyone to be next to donnas side but because she is his world and he’s her rock. Ron tells me all the time how grateful he is for the people at the church, the help and donations and even the visits. Imagine watching your loved one turn into a shell of their body, you love that person so much but you know that’s not them anymore. From sickness to health, until death do us part, That’s Ron Smith.
Ron’s struggles are real, when Donna passes away, he can’t afford to bury her like she wished, not only that but the IRS is coming on the 30th of this month to seize the property because Ron is 20,000 dollars in debt with taking money from his 401K to try and keep the bills paid, he’s been delinquent on payments and it’s now come to this. He’s going to lose his wife and doesn’t even have time to morn the loss as he is going to then lose his home and everything he’s been trying so hard to keep for the past 14 years with the inability to leave his home. Working in his garage when he’s able to, doing side jobs for people to make extra cash to make ends meet. Ron is far from lazy, probably one of the hardest working people I know! But one of the most humble people you’d ever meet. Nobody even knew this was going on because he was so embarrassed to say anything to anyone, not wanting any help. Only reason I found out is because he didn’t want me to go there after October 30th and see he didn’t live there anymore. They said once they seize the property they would auction off his belongings to accrue the debt. It’s really sad come to think our country is letting people come pouring across our borders, my hard earned tax dollars are helping pay for housing and food for these people yet our own government is doing this to such a great American citizen, I feel like the system is failing us!
Thank you so much for your time, you could be doing countless other things right now and if you did read all of that, honestly doesn’t even touch the surface on how great Ron Smith is. If you’re able to help, just know how grateful Ron and his family are. He doesn’t want to fail Donna after all these years, please help allow him to give her the burial she deserves. One last thing, you can bet your ass he didn’t want me to ask you for help! I’m not asking, I’m begging!

Sincerely
Ryan Lee
