Ron Tibbie’s Medical Fund Raiser

Hi my name is Rachel Tibbie. This fundraiser is for my husband Ron Tibbie. On 4/2/22 Ron was rushed to the ER due to sudden severe sharp pains in his left abdominal and back areas. He was vomiting profusely, had the chills, was constantly breaking out in cold sweats, his skin was pale and cold to the touch and he couldn’t walk nor sit or stand because he was in so much excruciating pain. If it weren’t for the quick actions of the ER physicians, he would have gone into sepsis.

His CT scan showed two huge 16mm kidney stones (average size ranges from 4-6mm). We were in the ER for 8 hours for treatment/observation and he was then transferred to Presbyterian Hospital in Plano for emergency surgery and stayed overnight, only for the urologist to tell us the next morning that he wasn’t ready to operate on him (probably because we’ve Marketplace insurance that he doesn’t accept) and discharged him. So here we are, still with two large kidney stones and on major pain killers and with the possibility of going into sepsis since they are still in his kidneys.

Albeit there were urology clinics listed on the website of our insurance carrier, each one we had contacted indicated they didn’t accept our United Healthcare insurance because UH is new to the Marketplace and not many providers are yet aware of their new plan through it, thus haven’t signed up to accept it, making our only choice the cash pay route. And with cash pay, they require full payment up front before they can perform his surgery. We are not ones to seek any kind of monetary help, but because this is a matter of Ron’s health and we currently don’t have the means to provide cash up front, we are asking for financial help. Every little bit would help greatly, but please do not feel obligated to donate. Prayers is what we need at this moment. I will provide updates.
