Ronald McDonald House at Tokyo Marathon

I have had the privilege of being selected as a charity runner for the Tokyo Marathon 2025. I will be raising money to represent Ronald McDonald House Charities Japan! The Ronald McDonald House provides essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare. RMHC works tirelessly to ensure the children in our world are safe and cared for. I have pledged to fundraise $3,200 and every dollar raised will be donated directly to Ronald McDonald House.

In November 2021 I ran my first marathon at the New York Marathon. I was inspired to set the goal to become a Six Star World Marathon finisher. The following two years I went on to run Berlin, New York (again), Boston, London and Chicago. The Tokyo Marathon is the last world major I need in order to make my dream come true!

It is hard for me to put into words just how much running has impacted my life. For so many years, I felt myself longing to feel part of a community. I tried to fit in with different teams and groups throughout high school and college. Nothing seemed like it fit. I felt like I was always just on the outside. I so badly wanted to experience the feeling of making a coach proud, making teammates proud and most importantly making myself proud. It took a long time but I finally found that sense of belonging and strength through running. Community is a powerful thing. When you surround yourself with people that lift you up and motivate you, magical things can happen. This community has finally helped me see how much of an impact running has made on myself. It has shown me what I always failed to see…just how strong and capable I truly am. I never thought as an average runner I would come close to becoming a six star finisher and yet here I am.
