RONALD BUKUSI is a father, son, husband, brother and friend to many. He has recently been diagnosed with Esophageal cancer. He has been undergoing treatment in Nairobi, Kenya and still has a quite the journey ahead of him. Besides having his family there for support, his passion for Rugby has been a necessary compontent in keeping his spirits high.
Ronald has had a love for sports his entire life and he began his career as a junior officer at Nyayo National Stadium after graduating from Kenyatta University. He gained valuable experience and exposure in the organization and management of sporting events at local, national and international levels over the years. He later obtained a Masters degree in sports Administration in the USA. In college he played for BlakBlad Rugby Club and has been involved in the sport ever since. Before his return to Nairobi, he was a coach for both the Chicago Blaze Men's Rugby Club and Chicago Sirens Women's Rugby Club.
During his term as CEO at the Kenya Rugby Union he has strategically managed Kenya through a string of international successes including beating Fiji to win the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Singapore in April 2016, qualifying for the Olympic games in Rio.
Despite the challenge of his personal circumstances he is determined to see Kenya rise to its full stature as a force to reckon with in international rugby.
The Bukusi family asks you to please help them support Ronald financially during this time of need.
