Ronda's Medical Expenses

As some of you may know, our Ronda has recently gotten very sick.

Last Monday she began vomiting. We tried treating her at home, giving her a bland diet of chicken and rice, but she was progressively getting worse. We took her in to the vet on Thursday morning. They were originally worried about there being an obstruction in her digestive system so they did a set of X-rays that showed nothing conclusive.  They suggested that we do blood work and a Barium series of X-rays to be sure there were no digestive obstructions. The Barium series X-ray results showed no signs of an obstruction. Ronda came home over the weekend with some medications to treat symptoms of pancreatitis, though the blood work showed nothing conclusive. Ronda continued to vomit despite having high strength anti nausea medication. Our vet was very concerned with this and suggested an exploratory surgery to try and see what was going on. We were hoping that we would finally find out what was causing our girl to be so sick. Exploratory surgery came up negative and a new set of X-rays revealed that her esophagus is severely swollen as a result of the constant vomiting.  The new plan is to continue with inject-able medication and fluid since she has not been able to hold down any food, pills or water. 

We fear that Ronda is far from done visiting the vet for her situation. The bill for this morning alone neared $500. With the already nearly $3,000 in expenses our savings are running thin. We are seeking help to help pay for Ronda's vet visits this last week and the anticipated future visits until we can hopefully get our girl back to catching Frisbees. We're not ones to normally ask for handouts but we know that there are lots of people that love our sweet Ronda just as much as we do. We are not going to give up on her.
