Help Artist “DVDJ Crush” Ronnie Cagle with Overwhelming Medical Bills

On Saturday, January 28, 2024, Ronnie Cagle, also known as DVDJ Crush, was rushed to the emergency room after waking up with sudden blindness. Doctors at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans worked diligently in the hospital and ICU to find the cause and treat what they found as the root of the problem: Kidney Disease with Complications from Diabetes. His treatments included dialysis and several other very expensive tests and medications. In the process of finding the answers, the doctors also found unrelated heart issues. Ronnie eventually regained his sight and was considered stable enough to be released from the hospital after a multi-day stay. With proper care, rest, and medication, his prognosis is good. However, without insurance from an employer and with doctors’ orders to take (unpaid) time off from his work, his medical bills will be unmanageable.

Ronnie has worked for years as an artist in New Orleans and beyond. He started his creative professional journey at just 14 years old, as a DJ at local high school dances, and went on to become a popular Performer, Video DJ, Host, M.C., and Creator. His success has made him a well-known and respected presence in his field but, as a contract employee and freelance artist in the “gig economy”, steady income and a reliable source of health insurance has been a challenge.

Ronnie is facing a long, hard, and uncertain road ahead. His ICU, hospital, and medical bills are expected to reach well over $100,000.00. We have created this fund to help pay these bills and to help Ronnie get healthy, get the care he needs, and get back to his mission of bringing artistry and joy to every soul he can.

We, the Cagle Family, wish to thank the doctors and nurses at Ochsner Hospital for the excellent treatment that Ronnie received. We hope and pray that, through this fundraising campaign, we can continue down this uncertain road together with positivity and hope, and with a focus on Ronnie’s recovery. We would also like to thank all of the friends that have helped Ronnie and our family get through this difficult time, especially DJ SKRIBBLE SKRIBBLEENO Ent., who sparked the idea for this fund.

Our goal is to have 2800 people donate $36 each, a dollar for every year Ronnie has been a professional in this entertainment world he so loves.
