Ron's Brain Tumor

Donation protected
The day of October 9th, Ron and I went for a short trip to Vancouver to celebrate our anniversary early. During our stay, Ron was miserable with severe head pains everyday and all day for the course of our trip, sometimes with occasional and unexpected vomiting and a depleted appetite. Ron and I hoped it was nothing too serious, and looked to book a doctor's appointment when we returned on the 14th. The following day, the 15th, Ron and I planned to go to work, but Ron's pain was so intense to the point that he couldn't stop vomiting. With the immense pain that Ron was in we decided to go to urgent care, who then referred us to the ER. After a tortuous 3 hour wait, Ron was finally admitted with everyone (health care workers included) expecting anything, but what was to come. An MRI and CT scan later, Ron was given the news that he had an extremely large brain tumor and would be requiring surgery within the next 2-3 days. The following days were a blur, with Ron, myself and his family having minimal time to emotionally process what was occurring as Ron awaited for surgery on Wednesday the 18th. Issues did not stop at the size of the brain tumor (7.3 cm x 6.6 cm, 4.5 cm was the size)., but since it was in his left frontal lobe, it was within a close enough radius to his main speech center for the surgeon to decide that the surgery needed to be performed with Ron awake to ensure that nothing was damaged. Good news finally struck Wednesday afternoon, when we were told after a cruel 5 1/2 hours that his surgery was successful and they believed to have removed the entire tumor. Ron is now finally home, resting for the first time in a week and still in shock by the entire experience. We're now currently waiting for the results of what the tumor was, and what his next steps are. Every person that came across Ron during his stay, continued to express their shock at how young and healthy Ron was to be experiencing something like this. This story brings us to today. Luckily Ron has health insurance through his employer, but it stills only covers the surface costs of Ron's medical expenses. As Ron's recovery begins, we hope to minimize and alleviate any financial stress for Ron, so he can focus on his healing. We understand everyone's unique situation, and we are appreciative of any amount that Ron can receive as these circumstances were anything but anticipated. We thank everyone for their support, and even if you can't provide monetary assistance, we'd be just as appreciative if his story can be shared. We are forever grateful and thankful for everyone's wishes, prayers, and support that they've given Ron through this emotional and traumatic experience. Any funds received will be used towards Ron's accumulative medical expenses.
