Roo Runners

G’day mates! Ferris Gump here, and I’m run'N 4,443km across America, from New York to Los Angeles in me Roo Runners socks for community and mateship, and to lend a hand to those doing it tough. 

On me travels, I’ve seen heaps of young First Nations / Aboriginals Aussie kids in remote communities in Australia running around barefoot. I’ll be running in Roo Runners, socks stitched Kangaroo leather on the bottom off the front half of the sock that help with my running technique by leaping from the balls of me feet rather than heel striking. These socks will be handmade by myself truly or by involving local Aussie communities, giving a boost to employment and health across our beautiful country Australia.

I has been a long life dream of mine to runN across America, like Forrest Gump did and has been a huge inspiration of mine.. I have now runN across Australia, Tasmania, Indonesia, Belgium, England and now setting of to attempt to runN across the USA in my ROO RUNNERS socks.. I will be the 1st person to ever runN across America, possibly a country ever, so it's looking at being a world record also for a very worthy cause.

At this point in time, the money will be going towards helping me achieve this goal to help fuel me, the bare essentials, food, cold drinks, phone credit so I can share my journey with you all with LIVE updates.. I am looking at doing a marathon per day, 42km / 26miles, 105 days, 3.5 months with no support vehicle pushing my 25kg trolley with all my belongings.

This will help me get a lot more international exposure and help get more support as when I get home and HOPEFULLY we canN raise enough money to buy a full sock machine set up, which is looking around $15-$20,000AU+ so we canN make Australia made barefoot Roo Runners socks for kids in need.
