Rooff Rowathon 2019

On the 24th May 2019, Rooff will be hosting the Inaugural Rowathon in the Boathouse Studios to raise money for the mental health charity, MIND.

Mind provide advice and support to anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

https://www.mind.org.uk/

Our target is to raise at least £5,000 and we politely ask each individual taking part, to attempt to raise £50 towards the cause (although more is of course welcome).

Prizes:

Winning Team (furthest distance for the six hours)
Sponsor Prize (we ask our donors to please send their estimate of what the winning distance will be, with the closest estimate winning a bottle of champagne provided by Rooff)

We have three teams taking part on the day, with the teamsheets as followed:

SHIVER ME TENDERS

The largely new business and tender based team will be accompanied by wild cards from Plant Yard and Property.

Inspirational quote from the skipper, Claire Bullen - 'In life and in sport, we paddle hard - young or old, rain or shine, in the heat or the cold - to the finish line, because we are all, all of us, in the same boat'.

Team: Claire Bullen, Lucy Dunne, Danny Watson, Steve Drury, Darren Fenwick, Jamie Hepper, Ben Tarrant, Chris Mayes.

THE SURVEY-OARS

Strictly surveying and buyers on this team, led by Chief Fish himself, here is what he has to say ahead of the event - 'Don't COUNT the reps, make the reps COUNT'.

Team: Paul Fisher, James Menzo, Thomas Kyprianou, Matt Wallace, Sean Butler, Steven Campbell, James Gregory and Greg Scott.

ROWING PAINS

An exemplary showcase of the diversity here at Rooff, this team has come together from all departments and with our MD, Mark Horn leading the way, he is confident ahead of the big day - 'With skills and expertise from all around the company, I am looking forward to seeing our most diverse team power their way over the finish line on this six hour marathon'.

Team: Mark Horn, Lauren Coles, Katie Elias, Jo Claisse, Cheryl Pennington, Alison Evers, Mike Moxon and Carl Whelan.

All levels of sponsorship are welcome, as is attendance on the day from family and friends! The event will end around 4pm with all participants rowing their way to a worthy drink at The Boathouse Cafe and Bar.
