Help Roofus with Bone Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
My name is Katie, and I am the proud owner of the sweetest rescue pup named Roofus. (Let's be honest; he is really my canine son) I scheduled a vet appointment on August 8th, when he suddenly stopped using his right leg. At that appointment, he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his front Right Shoulder, which is an aggressive and very painful bone cancer. By the time of his oncology vet appointment on August 22, his tumor had grown from not visible externally to the size of a baseball. Recommendations were humane euthanasia or scheduled amputation due to signs of suffering from pain. Roofus is already considered "functionally amputated" because he does not use his right leg and is determined to be a great candidate for amputation. Despite his sweet gray face, he still has his puppy spunk and love for life and has mastered life as a functionally 3-legged pup. He currently has a fentanyl patch for pain management until his surgery for amputation, which is scheduled for August 24, 2022, and is estimated to be at least $4500.00
Roofus can't THANK YOU enough for all of your support, prayers and kind words throughout this very unexpected diagnosis. He has been there for me through the ups and downs of life, and now I need to be there for him. I am looking forward to making more memories with this Amazing Dog and will keep everyone updated as he navigates life as a fully 3-legged dog. Please donate if you would like to contribute to Roofus' unexpected surgery costs.
