Locally we have met another sweet 11 year old girl that would love to have her bedroom made over as she fights Ewings Sarcoma from a tumor in her hip.
Having her own space be comfortable, functional and enjoyable has such an affect on a young girls mental well being. We want to give this gift to Madi. Hard enough fighting cancer, we can make her environment a little more fun and relaxing to make this journey a smidge more comfortable. Hope you join us.
More about Madi from her family:
Madison Taylor (Madi) was born on July 1, 2003 in Poway Ca and instantly made the world a happier place. She is always smiling, making funny faces and keeping her friends and family laughing. Madi started competing as a level 3 Gymnast in early 2014 and did well enough in her preliminary Meets to compete in the State Meet in November 2014. She kept practicing hard until her right hip started hurting her around Christmas time. After a few consults with Physical Therapists and doing stretching exercises to relieve her hip pain Madi went to her pediatrician on Monday March 2, 2014 and they found a lump near her right hip. An x-ray the next morning found a suspicious mass. By that afternoon, Madi was admitted to Rady Children’s Hospital and underwent an MRI. The MRI showed a tumor. Testing on Wednesday March 4th discovered that the mass was cancerous and Madi was transferred to the Peckham Center for Cancer at Rady's. A bone marrow evaluation, CT scan, and bone scan show that the cancer is localized to the tumor on her hip and diagnosed as Ewing Sarcoma. Madison began 9 months of Chemotherapy treatment on March 10th 2015. She is fighting this cancer with the same spirit she has tackled everything in her life with laughter and smiles. She is a blessing to us all.
