Help with Rooney’s Surgeries and Recovery Funds

Donation protected

Hi everyone!
To those of you who know and love Rooney, and those of you who’ve yet to meet our sweet girl, she needs our help.

About a week ago Rooney went into the vet clinic for vomiting and abdominal pain, over the next week she was treated with medication but without luck. On Monday morning the vet discovered that she had become septic and she needed to be rushed into surgery, and on Tuesday morning Rooney had exploratory abdominal surgery where they found a foreign object that had punctured her intestines. The surgery was successful, but the recovery has not been straightforward.
Rooney’s in high spirits and her vitals look good considering, but she’s going to need an albumin transfusion. The costs of these expenses have completely drained me, and I’m asking for any help that you can offer to me, to Rooney and to the people who’ve helped us this far to continue this recovery and get her home safe.

Rooney is such a special dog, she’s my best friend and she’s loved by so many people. She still has plenty of good years left in her and so much more love to give!

Please, even a few dollars or a share is enough to make a difference. I love and appreciate you all so incredibly much.

Here’s to Team Rooney!! ❤️❤️

Love, Danielle

UPDATE FRI. APR. 5, 2024

I can’t believe the outpouring of love and support we’ve received for Rooney so far! Words can’t express how grateful I am to everyone for the donations, kind messages and positive energy, thoughts and prayers that you’ve sent her way. And guys… it’s working ✨
Rooney’s post-surgery edema has begun to decrease with albumin and plasma transfusions, her vitals are becoming more stable and she’s FINALLY eating for the first time in over a week! It’s still not enough to get her gut health strong enough to fully recover and stop producing so much fluid (she’s got a drain in her stomach until then), so they placed a nasogastric tube in her last night to help with the final push. The vets have continually told us that this is “one tough lady,” and her attitude just keeps getting better and better.
They’re hopeful that with all of this progress we might be able to take her home on Sunday!

Again, I can’t thank you all enough for showing up for me and for Rooney.

Love, D ❤️

UPDATE THU. SEP. 19, 2024

Well, friends, this has not been Rooney’s year. Rooney fully recovered from the sepsis and surgery beautifully, but in June while she was running with her friend in a field our girl tore her CCL— essentially the doggy version of an ACL tear. She was the perfect candidate for surgery, she’s ten years old (as of this week!!) and even though she’s been through hell she still has the energy of a puppy. We decided to go through with the surgery and it was a complete success! Rooney has been healing (begrudgingly restricted to her bed) for nearly eight weeks now, and is almost ready to get back to her normal routines of going on walks and hikes and parks and being a happy, healthy pup again.
We’ve poured a major portion of our finances into vet bills, special dietary foods, medication and recovery for Rooney but it’s all worth it to see her running and smiling again.
I’m incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received so far and I’m thankful for anything that you’re able to provide to help us with this final push!
Team Rooney has been growing for ten years because of this very, very special dog. I’m so proud to be a part of it :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Love, D.
