Roo’s journey - memories with her babies

Hi all.. so my little sister roo (rhian) was diagnosed with cancer on her 32nd birthday.. what a roller coaster that has been .. our baby of the bunch .
she was told she had ovarian cancer.. and had a build up of fluid that had to be drained prior to having a full hysterectomy.. rhian spent two weeks in hospital as while having the fluid drained she contracted sepsis .. she didn’t have a great time in while admitted.. was really let down by the nhs .. I had to go up to the ward every day at 6am to wash her (the staff apparently didn’t have time) she also has ocd so being clean is a big deal for her ..
when she finally was “well” enough to have her op. She had a massive reaction as the infection from sepsis still wasn’t clear (this went unnoticed until then ) she was put in an induced coma . And we were told our little sister possibly wouldn’t make it through the night. Our world fell apart . Rhians children were absolutely beside themselves . By now .. they had spent the best part of four weeks without there mum.
thankfully rhian pulled through.. she had had a full hysterectomy. Her appendix removed and the lining of her bowel
she was sent home to recover .. two months .. yessss two wholemonths later .. after countless calls .. begging for results and next steps . Rhian was called in for a colonoscopy.. as apparently they had got it wrong .. she didn’t have ovarian cancer.. apparently they couldn’t locate it .. so thought she must have colon cancer. At this apppointment she was told she didn’t .. they have my sister the all clear .. she didn’t have cancer after all.. it must be endometriosis.. which commonly gives readings similar to cancer .. can you believe how happy we all were ... We cried .. jumped for joy.. . the nightmare was over… until 24hrs later ..
rhian didn’t feel right .. in alot of pain.. called her gp wanting answer to how to fix whatever it was now she had .. to be told .. “we’re sorry, we’ve got it wrong . You actually had appendix cancer” the most rarest form.. and your ct results suggest it’s spread to your lymph’s nodes .. whatttttt.. the poor girls world feel apart all over again..
fast forward.another two months .. rhian has stage 4 aggressive cancer ..
and tomorrow April 8th .. she starts her first three month course of chemo.. which we are aware is going to ravish this poor girls body.. since her initially diagnosis back in November she has been incredibly poorly .. and had to spend a fair amount of time away from her babies . Even when she is home she isn’t strong enough to do what she usually does with them. Not for want of trying bless her. Rhian is a single mum. Works hard as a dental nurse . Her life has always revolved around her and her children. She’s everything to them . She brought them up from day one alone . And is an incredible mummy ..
what id like to do with the help of all you incredible people.. so many of you have supported Roo’s journey.. is to create a little pot for her for when she recovers .. something she has to help her take the kids away .. just them three. To help put this dreadful nightmare behind them. Something for them to look forward to . As as many of you are aware .. chemo isn’t kind .. the next three months are going to be incredibly hard..
anything helps .. please find it in your heart to help them have the funds to make some memories together ..
your love and support is so very much appreciated ♥️
