Root Canals For Judah

WARNING GRAPHIC PHOTOS AFTER STORY:
On March 19 my kiddo was enjoying his cousins bday party at the trampoline park when he came running up to me screaming and bleeding with both of his bottom front teeth completely pulled out, his adult teeth. We rushed to the ER where my 7 year old son had to be given an IV and was given morphine for pain. He had X-rays to make sure his jaw or mouth was not broken. Once the dr got the ok on those X-rays his next step was to place the teeth back in.
Anesthesia can be dangerous for children so the ER Dr opted for the drug Ketamine. He advised us that for my son it would be like the lights are on but no one is home and we may see his eyes roll in the back of his head and he won’t be able to talk or make sense of what’s going on while he’s on this. Because Ketamine is a serious drug and there was a child involved they needed a special team of people in case something went wrong, we had maybe 7-10 people in there. My 7 year old son is one of the bravest and strongest person I know. He reassured me and told me “mom it’s going to be ok”. I couldn’t believe how calm and brave he was. He even told me I want to go back to the party after this but just not play. They gave him the ketamine and his appearance immediately changed. Nothing can prepare you to see your child “high” and in a state of unconsciousness. We felt scared and helpless but the need to be strong for him. I held my sons hand during the procedure, despite the heavy drugs he managed to mumble out loud, “mommy I love you”, and through a choked up throat and tears in my eyes I told him I loved him and that he was doing a great job. He wasn’t suppose to be able to talk. The Dr asked for more meds in his IV and after the longest 15 minutes of my life they got the teeth in and placed a brace on and he was put on a liquid diet.
We knew this journey wasn’t ending there. Fast forward to now and he’s had quite a few bumps in the road since that day, more dental apts than I’ve had in my whole life. He still cannot use his front teeth for all his food, soft things he can but it will take time for his teeth to be fully useable and there may come issues later in his life. I started this Go Fund me because we need help. After some odd months of trying holistic care and praying for a miracle that these teeth may regrow their roots we’ve come to the conclusion and done tests that show they are dead teeth. He must have root canals in order to keep these teeth and our insurance only covers half. My husband works hard and full time and I bring in some income from my disability. As you all know living right now in this economy is not easy. If you cannot spare anything then please share his story, that can help. We greatly appreciate any help that you can offer, wether it’s a dollar or just sharing the post, it means a lot to us. Judahs planned root canals will be in September. Any extra funds will go to his other dental balances that we’ve acquired and any extra will go to his personal bank account. Thank you
