Rorie's Surgery And Any Further Therapy

In case this reaches people I don't know, my name is Leslie Arnett. I'm currently trying to raise funds for treatment for my dog, Rorie, who was just diagnosed with an intracranial mass as the cause of seizures he started having in June. The hope was that Rorie met the criteria for idiopathic epilepsy, but the MRI done yesterday afternoon has confirmed that there IS a mass, located at the front of his brain. We don't have confirmation on what type it is, but surgery and/or radiation therapy are the best treatment options.

Rorie and Finn, his housemate, are essentially my children. They come to work with me every day and have been a lifeline for me in times of struggle when my previous job was really hard. As such the idea of losing him so early in his life is shattering. Without surgery, Rorie's estimated survival time with medication alone is about two months, meaning he may not even make it to his birthday (December 19th) or Christmas. While neither surgery nor radiation guarantee he will be forever free of the cancer, they give me more time with him.

My mother has offered to help pay for the surgery but the estimated cost is between $11-18,000. That is more than I can ask of her and while I can help pay some of these fees, I don't have enough in my savings to consider paying for it myself and have too many expenses on my own to try and finance it otherwise.

If able, I would do combined radiation and surgery therapy to give him the best chance of survival, but radiation therapy is an additional $12-15,000 and realistically I can only predict enough money to help ease the cost of surgery. Every cent donated would go towards whatever treatment(s) I can manage with my funds and schedule. My only hope is to have more time with him in such an unfair situation where he may be taken from me before he should be.
