Rosa Prieto with her medical expenses

During the last week of January, a lump was discovered and after multiple tests - a CT, 3 biopsies, 2 ultrasounds, 2 MRIs we found out it was cancer and it was invasive. It was decided that a double mastectomy would be the best route. On May 4 she had her double mastectomy surgery. It was decided after the mastectomy that she should move forward with chemo, which was scheduled to start at the beginning of June but right before she was going to start, it was discovered that she had an infection that put her in the hospital for two days. After recovering from the infection that postponed her chemo, she eventually started her first round on July 6. She will receive a total of 6 rounds of chemo which occurs every 21 days. After she finishes her chemo, she will have to receive infusions for a year, which will occur every 21 days.
We have remained optimistic throughout this whole process and appreciate everyone who has reached out and has said a prayer for us.
