Rosalia Gasso's Cancer Treatment and Expenses

Our beloved ROSALIA GASSO (who is like a sister to me) needs our help!! Unfortunately, out of nowhere, last month we found out that Rosalia has a large, aggressive cancerous tumor in her abdomen. She has been in the hospital for more than two weeks, and will still be hospitalized for some time. She has had major surgery to try to remove it, but because of the placement and size of the tumor, the doctors were unable to remove most of it, so she will have to undergo extensive chemotherapy treatment.

This GoFundMe is because we NEED you to help to raise money for Rosalia's expensive medical bills (their insurance will cover some of it, but not nearly enough) and to help pay for living expenses since they are unable to work. Rosalia and Alejandro make their living as professional tango teachers and performers (https://www.rosaliayalejandrotango.com), and they teach as a team, so with Rosalia out of commission and with Alejandro needing to be her primary caregiver, they cannot earn money during this time. In addition, they are in the U.S. on a visa that only permits them to teach and perform tango, so they are legally prohibited from getting any other type of work, and they cannot go back to Argentina for the treatment, as it might jeopardize their U.S. visa status and their ability to come back to their home in Las Vegas. On top of that, like many artists, they were not able to earn much money last year because of the pandemic, and they had to use their savings to get through the year, so, just when they thought they were finally going to be able to go back to teaching and performing (and earning), they suddenly find themselves in a very tough situation financially. So let’s help them get through this!

Nuestra amada Rosalia Gasso (que es como una hermana para mi) NECESITA NUESTRA AYUDA!! Desafortunadamente, de la nada, el mes pasado le encontraron a Rosalía un gran tumor cancerígeno en el medio del abdomen. Ha estado en el hospital por mas de dos semanas y seguirá hospitalizada. Fue intervenida quirúrgicamente para remover el tumor. Una cirugía mayor y compleja, pero dado el lugar donde se encuentra y el tamaño del tumor fue imposible removerlo. Solo un pequeño pedazo. Rosalia deberá someterse a tratamientos de quimioterapia.

Este GoFundMe es porque NECESITAMOS que nos ayuden a juntar dinero para los gastos médicos (ya que el seguro solo pagará una parte, pero no lo suficientemente bien) más poder vivir sin trabajar lo que sea necesario ¡! Rosalia y Alejandro (www.rosaliayalejandrotango.com) trabajan como bailarines profesionales y profesores de tango, son un equipo. Ahora Rosalia necesitarán meses de tratamiento y Alejandro es su principal cuidador, por lo que no pueden ganar dinero durante este tiempo.
