Rosa Martinez is a longtime, devoted custodian of the Chicago Botanic Garden. Her smiling face and sweet greeting of "Hi Amiga!" is memorable by all.
On Sunday December 11, at 10:00am, a car went skidding into an intersection after the light had turned red. He reversed the car to get out of the intersection and struck Rosa. With a tragic series of events, it has left her with broken ribs, ankle and shoulder. She was placed in ICU until late Tuesday the 13th, and is now in stable condition.
On December 23rd she was able to come home and celebrate the holidays with her family. She will continue therapy until she is fully recovered. She is in good spirits, as always, and will continue to fight getting better.
