Rose Avenue Urban Farm

Hi, I am Monica Shaw, the Executive Director of Deliverance Children's Ministry (DCM). DCM is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in the Greenville section of Jersey City, New Jersey, which has long been identified as an under-served area. It is geographically isolated from many services and amenities that many take for granted; such as quality youth programs, grocery stores, activities, safe streets, and other social programs.

At DCM, we have an open-door policy. If someone comes with a need, we will find a way to fill it. Please view our Accomplishments from 2022 by clicking here. This year, DCM is taking on a new environmental initiative. DCM would like to thank Denise Ridley for helping us secure the lease to the land at 59-61 Rose Avenue, Jersey City, NJ. This property will now be converted into an urban farm, used year-round for not only planting but also education. DCM and local adult and student volunteers will be farming the land in order to grow vegetables that can be donated to local food pantries. Our goal is to give back to our community in a fresh and environmentally friendly way.
