Nahid Alahkarami

In loving memory of Nahid Allah Karami, a resilient soul who, at the age of 39, sought refuge in Canada with the dream of providing a safer life for her precious twins, Vida and Viana (12). Born in 1983, Nahid embarked on a mission to carve out a brighter future for her family, enrolling in the early childhood program at CDI College in 2019 while simultaneously pouring her tireless efforts into various workplaces, be it a restaurant or elsewhere, all to secure the life her daughters rightfully deserved.

Despite facing the challenges of being alone in a new country, Nahid's strength and determination shone through. In April 2021, after weeks of severe vomiting, she bravely sought medical help, leading to a devastating diagnosis of cancer. Undeterred, Nahid faced the grim prognosis of six months to live with unwavering courage. Throughout the harrowing journey of chemotherapy, her resilience never wavered. She selflessly continued helping others from her hospital bed, epitomizing her spirit of kindness until her last breath.

The toll on Nahid's body forced a pause in chemotherapy, and after enduring 20 to 30 sessions, hope dwindled. Palliative care became her refuge in October 2023, where she spent her final days, leaving her loved ones in sorrow on November 14, 2023. The world denied her the chance to realize the bright future she aspired to create for her family, despite dedicating her entire life to this pursuit.

Now, we stand united to support Nahid's grieving family – her devoted husband, left without the chance to bid farewell, and her beloved twins. While family and friends offer solace, the financial burden on her husband in the coming months is immense. The funds we are raising aim to alleviate this burden, providing a measure of relief during this challenging time.

Nahid's humor, kindness, infectious smile, and laughter will forever be etched in our hearts.
