Rose Café

I am in the process of opening a business.
As I marched through the streets of my community protesting for Black Lives Matter with my sons, I had an epiphany. There is something missing from my community. A place to read. A place for healthy conversation. A place to empower local voices. A place to highlight the beauty of our community, and not the negativity. Until now.
I am opening up a bookstore/coffeeshop in the Roseland/Rosemore area called Rose Café. Rose Café is committed to bringing black business to a predominantly black community. In creating this space, we hope not only to promote black authors, artists, and entrepreneurs, we hope to continue to inspire the next generation to give back to their community.
Starting a business is not easy but the journey will be well worth it. I am asking that Chicago come together to help start something that will hopefully inspire someone else to start building in a community that our kids must grow up in. Let us start showing them how a community can come together and rise above hard times. Anything that you can give will be a blessing. This is a for profit business, and I am asking for funds to help get the business started. Nothing is too small or too large. Even if you can give it now, give later. Sharing this link would be a big help as well.
There are many events coming up to help raise money for Rose Café but my team and I wanted to extend an opportunity for the city to come together and rise, like the rose that grew from the concrete.
Please reach out to me with any questions.
